Cosmogony & Origin
Ahura Mazda (Wise Lord) created a perfect spiritual world, then a material world as a battleground against Angra Mainyu (Destructive Spirit). Creation is inherently good — the material world is an ally, not a prison. Time is divided into a finite period of 'mixture' (gumezishn) during which good and evil are intermixed.
Values & Ethics
The supreme ethical triad of good thoughts, good words, and good deeds. Humans must actively choose between Asha (truth/righteousness) and Druj (falsehood/deceit).
Purpose & Salvation
To fight on the side of Ahura Mazda against Angra Mainyu through righteous living. Humans are God's essential allies in the cosmic battle. The purpose of material creation is to defeat evil and achieve the final renovation (Frashokereti).
Suffering & Happiness
Suffering is caused by Angra Mainyu and the forces of Druj (deceit/destruction), not by Ahura Mazda. God is perfectly good but not yet omnipotent — His power will be complete only at the final renovation. This is a 'limited god' theodicy: evil is real, external, and temporary. Humans choose to resist or succumb.
Eschatology
Frashokereti (the making wonderful): final renovation of the universe. Three saviors (Saoshyants) will appear in successive millennia. The last will resurrect the dead. All souls will be purified by a river of molten metal. Angra Mainyu will be finally destroyed. The world will be renewed and perfected — eternal, immortal, without evil. Often considered the prototype of Abrahamic apocalyptic eschatology.
